Tim Ries is a saxophonist, composer, arranger, band leader and music educator. Not only are his creations showcased in rock, jazz and classical genres, but Tim has also played a wide range of popular hits with artists and bands such as Maynard Ferguson, Donald Byrd, Chico Hamilton, Jack DeJohnette, Louie Bellson, Al Foster, Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Paul Simon, the PRISM Quartet, the Detroit, Dallas, Cleveland Symphony and not forgetting the Rolling Stones.
In 2005, the Michigander was involved in the popular and critically acclaimed "The Stones Project", which included his own jazz arrangement of some of the most popular Rolling Stones songs.
Tim Ries’ extraordinary music inspires others globally to use their imagination when creating music themselves. Tim has world toured Rome, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Toronto and many more. He was at the Detroit Jazz Festival last year for the first time as a leader with The East Gipsy Band from Budapest. He will get on the stage at the Beishan Jazz Festival 2015 as the special guest.
